Blogging...A Competition?
Excuse me for this little ditty but I just don't get it!! This site that I mostly write blogs on is now running a contest (for lack of a better term) on whose blog is the most popular?? I have read a number of the so called popular blogs in a variety of categories and what I have observed thus far is they (the blogs) are most times authored by teen-agers, who are putting down someone or something that is encroaching upon their pysche or space if you will. This is fine, and many are funnny, but what makes for a more popular journal than anothers? The use of Fuck You, or Fuck That, Calling folk Bitches and Hoes or Cunts, is that a criteria? Shit, I can do that, if it is necessary, lol, but that is not my style nor choice of interacting and communicating with others, or
is being 14, 16 or 20, you know, the worldly peeps (lol) the hook in getting selected for having produced the most popular blog.
Blogging is in my mind an outlet for one's thoughts and ideas-- true or not? Therefore who is to say that anothers thoughts and ideas are better than anyone else's? Who is doing the judging, what is being measured in making these judgements, how, are these judgements being made and most importantly why?
I've read a number of the so called "creme de la creme" and you'all gotsta be shitting me! I've observed a number of the cool sites when checking out some blogs, wonderful imaginations and very creative, but what is it some of you are talking about? It must be a misunderstanding on my part of what is intended by this production and introduction of "View Most Popular Blogs"....sorry I don't get it, perhaps, someone can 'splain it to me...(:).
